As we introduce ourselves to Trinidad & Tobago, we share our history and our mission as a political body aiming to build a better future for all.
History
The Innovative Democratic Alliance is a political party of Trinidad & Tobago, forged from the love of change. Built by service from the heart, IDA was created amidst the Global Pandemic of the COVID-19 virus. Our Executive and Candidate Slate have longstanding credibility and the trust of our communities in our consistency to support and build. This fueled us to come together and commit to igniting the minds of Tobago. We as a world and as a nation have continued to change irrevocably but we seek to remind ourselves that we are all still humans, connected. Our mandate focuses on the growth of our people, our economy and our environment because we believe we can do it.

We believe in a society where:

Our children have access to quality education with a planned curriculum that is aligned to the development needs of the island.

Abundant job opportunities are not constrained by a lack of job security.

Our health care and social systems are organized to meet the needs of our citizens.

Food security is as important as our people, and therefore our natural resources of land and fisheries must carefully managed.

We recognize the need for prudent management, more equitable distribution of the island’s resources
and the benefits of these. We are also aware of the need for us to use our natural resources in a
sustainable manner that ensures their preservation for future generations. In the framework of these
core objectives, we are advancing conversations that are at the heart of Tobago’s development and
geared towards resuscitating the heartbeat of our people.
