Avernell Manswell

Avernell Burris Manswell developed a solid foundation established upon strong moral and spiritual values through her faith and commitment to God. She always knew that her calling would ultimately be in service to people. Driven by this passion to serve her people, her community and her island, she travelled abroad to further her education in the field of medicine. After briefly pursuing medicine in the US, she returned to Tobago due to ill-health.

Despite these pivotal experiences, her aspiration of service to Tobago has never been far from her thoughts. As with everything, Avernell views timing as the most critical element in her path forward. Convinced that with God as her guiding light, she would ultimately come into alignment with her calling, she remained grounded and engaged within her community.

Avernell has now chosen to step out of the shadows of her past setbacks. She has emerged rejuvenated and re-energized, with a fresh perspective on her passion to serve the people of this island. Grounded in her faith that with God, all things are possible, she is determined to make the much-needed difference that is so unquestionably needed at this time of Tobago’s development.
