Marlon Brizan

District Assemblyman - Black Rock/ Plymouth

Marlon Brizan comes from a strong heritage of community builders; a legacy handed down to him
by the matriarchal stability and prowess of his grandmother, Katie Brizan and evident from the work of
his father, Michael Brizan, in the development of the community of Black Rock and its sister
communities.

Educated in Trinidad during his formative years, he returned to Tobago and immediately entered the
banking sector. While there, his responsibilities positioned him in a predominantly “service based”
environment, which built into him the inclination to always assist others in resolving problems. Drawing
upon his experiences and passion to see others develop, it was inevitable when he transitioned into
teaching, which he used as the platform to begin shaping the lives and minds of many young children on
the island. Tourism then became his focus and, building on his past years of serving the needs of others,
he continued his journey as a manager in one of the island’s premier hotels.

Today Marlon has carved a niche for himself as a creative mind. Piloting the cultural group known as
“Last Band Standing”; he has harnessed from every area of his service experience and exposure to
develop his community through business ventures and cultural offerings. Engaging, accessible, entrepreneurial and humble, all represent the nature and character of Mr. Marlon
Brizan.
